Kay Morgan has served as the Senior Vice President of Drug Products and Industry Standards Research and Compliance for Elsevier / Gold Standard since December 2007. Ms. Morgan’s responsibilities include reviewing existing and new Elsevier / Gold Standard products for compliance with industry standards established by organizations such as the National Council of Prescription Drug Programs (NCPDP), Health Level 7 (HL7), Health Information Technology Standards Panel (HITSP), Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONCHIT), American Health Information Community (AHIC) and the National Library of Science’s RxNorm. Kay’s expansive knowledge of the industry and the standard setting organizations ensures that Elsevier/Gold Standard products comply with industry standards to promote interoperability.

Prior to joining Elsevier / Gold Standard, Kay was the Manager of Product Knowledge Base Services with First DataBank, where she managed the U.S. pricing file, a component of the National Drug Data File. Kay previously held several positions with Abbott Laboratories, including Manager of Trade Relations and Third Party Payers, as well as Manager of Product Information. Ms. Morgan is a Work Group Co-Chair for the National Council of Prescription Drug Programs (NCPDP) and a former member of the NCPDP Board of Trustees. Ms. Morgan received her Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from the University of Missouri, where she is an active participant of the Dean’s Advisory Council.
